COUNTRY CLUB
3 bars. old pool.
Our clients’ design brief was an outdoor urban jungle bar. When we first arrived to the site, we saw a distressed space with a view to the open sky and very high walls all around. This led us to the concept of an urban outdoor distressed pool, as if we fell into a cool, old backyard. We observed pool and resort layouts in order to draw inspiration for seating arrangements. A crucial part of the concept was designing seating in different ways, causing people to move around and make connections.
The site is all outdoors, meaning there is no roof. All materials used in the project are sun/rain proof, including materials durable enough to weather lots of traffic. We used natural materials such as marble, bamboo, birchwood, and a variety of plants that thrive on the outdoors and make the space more beautiful with each passing day. We chose materials that simultaneously met the clients’ budgetary needs and elevated the appearance of the space.
We collaborated with a few suppliers who enhanced our design concept. A lighting design studio presented light fixtures that feature in pools and light installations that give a water ripple effect, making areas very “Instagrammable” and unforgettable. The entryway of the space was designed by a stage designer; a jungle-like altar that creates a powerful first impression. The space contains 3 different bar designs, making it inviting to travel around and to explore the space.
